The Disposable Virus Sampling Kit (Non-inactivated) is designed for the collection and transport of live clinical specimens. It is suitable for viruses such as influenza, avian influenza (e.g., H7N9), hand, foot, and mouth disease, and measles, as well as other live specimens including Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, and Chlamydia. The kit includes flocked swabs, viral transport medium, and biohazard bag.

Specimen Collection Swab:

Flocked Sampling Nasal Swab/ Throat Swab used for cell & specimen collection, and it has been designed for Nasopharyngeal clinical diagnostics. The flocked swab is ideal for collecting a large number of cells and rapid elution of the specimens that instantly release the cells into the transport medium. It has been well recognized and adopted by the diagnostic test kit manufacturers who produce reagents in molecular genetics, forensics, and clinical laboratories sectors.

Virus sampling tube:

The body and cover of the tube are made of polypropylene. Resistance to static extrusion and dynamic impact. Bottom cone design, centrifugal and shock resistance.

It contains the sample preservation solution, which is used for sample release and preservation, preventing the hole. The centrifuge tube is designed to facilitate elution and release in the sample preservation solution.

Non-inactivated virus preservation solution does not contain lysis salt, and the preserved virus has better integrity and a higher detection rate. It retains the protein coat of the virus and the DNA or RNA of the viral nucleic acid at the same time, so that the virus has the integrity of the protein epitope and nucleic acid in vitro. The ingredients usually contain Hanks liquid base, gentamicin, fungal antibiotics, BSA(V), cryoprotectants, biological buffers, and amino acids, which protect the virus protein shell from being easily decomposed and maintain the originality of the virus sample to the greatest extent.  The collected virus samples can be stored in a non-inactivated VTM tube for a short time (within 72 hours) at 2-8℃.

Sample Requirements

1.Applicable sample types: pharyngeal swab,nasopharyngeal swab,saliva,sputum and other clinical samples;
2.Storage and transportation of samples: please pay attention to the storage period when using.Samples should be transported to the corresponding labo- ratory after collection,and store in the room temperature for 3-7 days;If the samples can not be sent to the laboratory after collecting the sample in 7 days,they should be stored at -80℃ or below.Repeated freeze-thaw of specimens should be avoided.
